Press Comments:

“Red, foxy colour. Wonderfully rich and concentrated without any excessive astringence. Bonfire topnote on great concentration of sweetness and vivacity. Great hit of appetising healthy richness. A strange suggestion of Bandaid is probably not worth mentioning as it, oddly, does nothing to detract from the pleasure! It’ s delicious, amazingly fresh and very, very long.”
Purple Pages, Jancis Robinson, February 2003

“Intense aroma with loads of lemony vanilla, toasted almonds and walnut shell in a very fine and elegant ensemble. Very good acidity on the palate, dry, concentrated and with a long finish.”

Tasting Notes: Topaz colour with a golden green rim. Complex and intense bouquet of Madeira with notes of wood and dried fruits. Medium dry and full bodied with a long oaky finish.
Press Comments:

“Medium tawny/gold colour. Seems a bit flabby and displaying too much flat oxidation at first, and a teacake fruitiness only emerges reluctantly. The palate has a biscuity richness and quite a thick texture, with plenty of sweetness. There's a lot of warmth and a Demerara sugar depth and toffeed sweetness here, but the grapefruity acidity is tangy and precise into the finish. 91 points.”
Tom Cannavan, www.wine-pages.com, August 2007

“Medium amber color with a yellow rim. For a 30 year old youngster, this shines. Bracing acidity and a much drier Verdelho which I prefer. Silky in the mouth, elegant caramel and toasted almonds with a finish that is exceptional in complexity, but the aftertaste does not linger like a great Verdelho. 92+ Points.”
Roy Hersh, “For the love of Port”, March 2005
